Round Top Man Arrested for Robbing Purse from Elderly Mother-in-law
Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that a Round Top man was arrested last week for aggravated robbery after allegedly taking a purse from his elderly mother-in-law.
Korenek said his office received a 911 call Thursday evening, May 3, reporting a disturbance at a residence on Rhode Road in the Warrenton area. Deputy Daitwan Walker responded to the home, where it was reported that 62-year-old Ronny Knipe of Round Top had injured his elderly mother-in-law while stealing her purse. Knipe fled from the scene prior to Walker’s arrival. Walker collected information about the suspect and possible locations where Knipe may have went.
Deputy Collin Godmintz and Texas State Trooper Josh Berger located Knipe at a residence north of La Grange. Korenek said the officers found Knipe in possession of the purse. They arrested Knipe on a charges of aggravated robbery and parole violation.
Knipe was transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center in La Grange. Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Randy Albers set bond at $50,000.
