Albina Annie Supak Pavlicek

Albina Annie Supak Pavlicek died peacefully at the age of 95 in Columbus on May 2, 2018. Albina was born in Fayetteville on Nov. 7, 1922 to Raymond Supak and Frances Urban Supak. She was raised on a farm just east of Fayetteville with four sisters and one brother. She grew up during the Great Depression helping with farm chores including milking cows, tending the livestock, picking cotton, shucking corn, tending the garden and helping her mother and father preserving food. She attended St. John Catholic School. While attending a dance she met the love of her life, Sylvester Felix Pavlicek of Frelsburg. They were united in marriage on Nov. 4, 1941 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Fayetteville. In 1942 Sylvester was drafted. When he returned they farmed in the Lone Oak area. They kept their roots anchored in the Lone Oak area where they raised their five children. Albina can be described as a talented, hardworking and caring Czech woman. Talented, because she was a fabulous cook, baker, she could sew, crochet, quilt, played dominoes and achieve any-and-all interesting projects. She will always be remembered by the Christmas carolers. The last stop for the carolers was always Albina and Sylvester’s house because she had a table full of sweets and homemade goodies awaiting them. Albina also was the cook at Orsak’s Café in Fayetteville. There, she was renowned for fried chicken. Hardworking, because she worked the farm with Sylvester doing everything to assist him in any and all work that needed to be done. She nurtured a wonderful, caring and fun family life, always doing everything she could to enrich their life with happiness. She spoke, read and wrote the Czech language. She is survived by her children: Madeline Pavlicek Schneider and husband Cleo of La Grange; Steve Pavlicek and wife Angie of Fayetteville; Raymond Pavlicek and wife Jennie of Frelsburg; and Rick Pavlicek and wife Shirley of Frelsburg; grandchildren: Brian Schneider, San Antonio; Pamela Schneider Benbenek, La Grange; Neva Pavlicek Kuchar, Georgetown, Jason Pavlicek, Cat Spring and Chris Pavlicek, Columbus. The highlight of her days, however, was spending time with her ten great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Sarah, Maddie, Eleanor, Kylie, Cameron, Connor, Payton, Mason and Olivia. She was proceed in death by her loving husband Sylvester, son Michael Pavlicek, parents Raymond and Frances Supak, brother Eddie Supak, Sisters Mary Canik, Bessie Kulhanek and Frances Jones. Albina was a homemaker all her life raising her family and helping Sylvester on the farm. They were members of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Frelsburg. Albina was an officer in the Church school PTA and was a member of the Alter Society, Catholic Daughters of America, the County Extension Home Services Group, Bingo Group and the church quilting group. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, canning, baking kolaches and other delicious confections and many different crafts. Her canned goods and crochet items won awards and ribbons each year at the Colorado County Fair. Many of her creations were auctioned off and sold at the church and volunteer firefighter fundraisers. Albina will be remembered for the love she so unselfishly gave to family and friends and the joy she brought to so many. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Frelsburg with Fr. Michael Lyons and Fr. Nock Russell officiating. Visitation, Parish Prayer Service and Rosary held on Friday at Henneke Funeral Home; and Altar Society Rosary held Saturday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Serving as pallbearers were Brian Schneider, Joe Benbenek, Mike Kuchar, Jason Pavlicek, Chris Pavlicek and Ed Marburger. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Johnnie Canik, David Kulhanek, Robert Cerny and Delbert Kulhanek. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sts.
