Floris Fischer

Funeral services for Floris Fischer, 79, of Giddings, were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Robert Tiner officiating. Burial followed in the Giddings City Cemetery. Floris Ann (Mutschink) Fischer was born on Dec. 11, 1938 in Giddings to Albert Walter Mutschink and Hermine Bertha (Unger) Mutschink. She was united in marriage to Anton Carl Fischer on May 8, 1960 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings. She was a quiet and supportive homemaker who enjoyed gardening, taking care of her flowerbeds, and was an excellent cook. Floris died the evening of Sunday, May 13, 2018 at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange. Floris is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Milton and- Margie Fischer of Giddings; her daughter, Mildred Guynes of Giddings; her sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Harold Kutschke of Giddings; her brother and sister-in-law, Alton & Eleanor Mutschink of Austin; her sister-in-law, Nora Jantzen of Austin; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Erwin and Jeanette Fischer of Hutto as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 300 North Grimes Street, Giddings, Texas 78942, or to the charity of one’s choice. Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings was in charge of arrangements.
