Metal Art From the Heart
An eagle took flight in a stream of hot metal, rising from a steel plate at J&J Metalworks this week. It was one of 10 art pieces the company is creating for the auction at the Back Yard Bull Bash this Sunday, May 27, which benefits the Ronald McDonald House.
“This comes from our heart,” said James Tienert, owner of J&J Metalworks. “We like to give out to the community. Money is nice to have, but friendship is where it’s at.”
He was aligning a machine to punch a hole in a piece of steel for an oilfield part – a typical job at the business. Teinert stays busy selling steel and turning out metal parts for the oil patch and LCRA. But he and his team of metalworkers also have an artistic side. It was on full display at their shop north of La Grange this week.
