Jenke

Funeral services for Garry Jenke, 60, of Manheim, were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Manheim with Rev. Dale Bohm officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Garry Wayne Jenke was born on Feb. 25, 1958 in Giddings to Emil Wilbert and Betty Jean (Boettcher) Jenke. He was united in marriage with Darlene (Hobratschk) Jenke on July 10, 1982 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings. From this union, they were blessed with two children, Seth and Shane. He was employed as a machinist in the oil field. He was a member of the Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department, Central Texas Old Iron Collectors, Texas Early Day Gas & Engine, and he held the position of Trustee and other various positions at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Manheim. Garry died Saturday, June 16, 2018 at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center in Austin. He was preceded in death by his father, Emil W. Jenke; father- in- law, Herman Hobratschk; two brothers-in-law, Dennis Hobratschk and Ronnie Hobratschk. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Darlene Jenke of Manheim; two sons, Seth Jenke and his wife Courtney of Lexington, and Shane Jenke and his wife Kourtney of Fort Worth; future grandson, Eli Jenke of Lexington; mother, Betty Jean Jenke of Manheim; brother, Brian Jenke and his wife Kari of Keller; mother-in-law, Eunice Hobratshck of Giddings, as well as numerous cousins and extended family and friends. Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings was in charge of arrangements.
