Funeral services for Ofelia Saucedo, 69, of Giddings, were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 25, 2018 at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Giddings with Rev. James Kagunya officiating. Burial followed in the Giddings City Cemetery. Ofelia died Thursday, June 21, 2018. Ofelia Herrera Saucedo was born on April 10, 1949 in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico to Aniceto and Ana Maria (Ramirez) Herrera. She married Rudolfo Saucedo. Ofelia was a loving and devoted homemaker to her family. Ofelia is survived by her seven children, Genaro Saucedo of Giddings, Sylvia Bookout and her husband, Lloyd of Giddings, Jose Saucedo of Giddings, Isabel Hardee and her husband, Jim of Austin, Deanna Rodriguez and her husband, Johnny of Taylor, Jesse Saucedo and his wife, Robin of Giddings and Javier Saucedo and his wife, Jennifer of Giddings; sixteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marcelina Nunes and her husband, Raymond of Giddings, Martha Hernandez of Giddings, and Laura Orocio andher husband, Victor of Giddings; five brothers, Braulio Herrera and his wife, Maria of Laredo, Robert Herrera and his wife, Guadalupe of Giddings, Aniceto Herrera Jr. and his wife, Socorro of Giddings, Juan Herrera of Lexington and Gabriel Herrera and his wife, Deina of La Grange as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings was in charge of arrangements.
