Legion Riders Provide Escort to Girls State

The Tri-County American Legion Riders (ALR) escorted girls from Columbus ISD and Schulenburg ISD to the American Legion Auxiliary Bluebonnet Girls State at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin on Sunday, June 17.

Girls State was started over fifty years ago by the American Legion Auxiliary as a means to educate youth in the duties, privileges and responsibility of American citizenship. It provides girls from all across Texas the opportunity to learn the problems of government by performing the same duties as real office holders in the everyday world.
