Our New Additions

Getting a new pet brings many challenges. The two most challenging ones (at least for me) are introducing him/her to your existing pets and picking a name. The introductions at our house usually consist of keeping the new young pet in a caged environment (for his protection) and gradually allowing him out to explore and get to know the reigning king. This is especially true when adding new cats to an existing cat home.

Naming that new pet can prove to be interesting. Over the years we have had multiple pets – cats, dogs, horses, birds, even a lizard. When choosing a name for each, I usually watched them for a few days and tried out a few names to see what fit. After all, this was going to be with them (us) for ten or more years.
