Wessels
Phillip Floyd Wessels, 65, of West Point, died Monday, July 2, 2018. Phillip was born in West Point on Jan. 17, 1953, the son of Walter John Wessels and Lorine (Tramp) Wessels. He married Betty Supak on March 18, 1972 in La Grange. He worked as a rural carrier for the U.S. Post Office for 33 years and retired in 2018. Phillip was the past president of the church council and a member of Hermann Sons Life of Plum. He enjoyed hunting, going to the coast, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Betty, of 46 years; daughter, Kimberly Squier and husband, Keith; brother, Walter “Bob” Wessels and wife, Jackie, all of West Point; granddaughter, Karissa Edwards and fiancée, Jason Hajovsky; two step grandsons: Jonathan Squier and Ethan Squier; great granddaughter, Addilynn Marie Hajovsky; two nieces: Marlana Fajkus and husband, Jason; Shelby McAnulty and husband, Shaun. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 from 12 to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services were held at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 640 Prairie Valley Rd., West Point, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018. Burial followed at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church.
