Funeral services for Milton Kasper, 92, of Serbin, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin with Pastor David Mumm officiating. Committal services will immediately follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Ray Wilke officiating. Milton died July 2, 2018 at Bec’s Blessing in Serbin. Friedrich Milton Kasper was born April 22, 1926, in Giddings, the son of Otto Kasper and Frieda (Weise) Kasper. On April 11, 1948, he married Edna Umlang at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln. He worked as the “Candy Man” for 35 years, first working for Curtis Candy and then later as an independent candy distributor. He served his church as President of the congregation, Elder, Sunday school teacher and was an active member of the Lutheran Laymen’s League. He is survived by one sister, Junelle Nittsche and her husband Herbert of Houston; his children, Marian and husband Jack Wiederhold of Serbin, Judy and husband Ray Wilke of Norfolk, Nebraska, Lois and husband Dennis Teinert of Round Rock, Stephen and wife Nancy of Giddings, and Carol and husband Tom Dove of Round Rock. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the Kasper family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church General Fund, the Lutheran Hour, Bec’s Blessing or to the charity of one’s choice. Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings is in charge of arrangements.
