Summer of Unity & Celebration

The La Grange Junetheenth Committee has had a busy summer.

Besides organizing a big celebration in June (honoring Juneteenth, which is a festival held annually on or around the nineteenth of June by African Americans, especially in the southern states, to commemorate emancipation from slavery in Texas on that day in 1865), the committee continues its efforts to help local families and individuals when financial needs arise for funeral expenses, school supplies, etc.
