Austin Man Arrested for Brandishing Gun During Dispute Here
Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Monday afternoon around 4:16 p.m. the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a female accompanied by a male subject with a handgun who kicked in a door at apartments on St. Hwy 159 near La Grange, threatening harm to the occupants.
Sgt. Ron Naumann, Deputies Marc Bennett, Adam Mack, the Narcotics Unit, and DPS Trooper Josh Berger responded to the scene. Upon arrival witnesses gave the vehicle description of the female and male subjects that fled. While actively searching for the vehicle, officers conducted a traffic stop on Loop 220 in the Plum area.
After contact with the driver and female passenger was made, consent was given to search the vehicle and a loaded .357 caliber handgun was located under the driver's seat.
Arrested was 42 yr. old Samuel Vincent Hernandez of Austin who was transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Chief Deputy Randy Noviskie of the Sheriff's Office said the female who was with Hernandez was not arrested. Noviskie said the dispute at the apartments was over some personal property.
