Coddou
Joseph W. Coddou, 91, of Schulenburg, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018. Joseph was born in Houston on Jan. 26, 1927, the son of Raymond Boneventure Coddou and Myrtle Anna Marie (Burttschell) Coddou. He married Yvonne Brimberry on Feb. 2, 1952. He attended St. Anne Catholic School and graduated from St. Thomas High School in Houston. He received a B.S. in Aero. Engineering in 1947 from Texas A&M University and furthered his education at Texas A&M University in Galveston studying Marine Fisheries and Maritime Adm. from 1983 – 1988. He served in the National Guard as a Master Sergeant and was with the 114th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Brigade. Joseph was employed as a Senior Project Engineer for General Dynamics/Convair and Quincy from 1953 until 1983 when he retired. He is survived by his son, Colonel John Coddou, USMCR, ret. and his wife, Melinda; and two grandchildren: Sarah Beth and Nicholas. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Yvonne, who passed away on May 29, 2005. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 2:30 p.m. and funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn. Burial will follow at the Hostyn Catholic cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
