Candelaria “Cande” (Arellano) Philips, 93, of La Grange, started her journey home on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018. Cande was born in Shiner on Feb. 2, 1925, the daughter of Polycarpo and Juanita (Viera) Arellano. Cande was very patriotic. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren playing sports and cherished time with her family. Cande devoted her life to her Savior spreading the word of God to her friends and family. She dedicated her life to always helping those in need. She leaves behind her beloved children: Tammie, Virginia, Jesse, Eleanor and Jolanda and her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Vastine Philips. Visitation was held on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at La Grange City Cemetery.
