Reviving a tradition that began in Munich, Germany, in 1810 to celebrate the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig, the first annual Round Top Oktoberfest set for Oct. 5 and 6 in the Rifle Association Hall. A group of dealers was setting up an antique fair and a one woman show by a contemporary Houston artist was planned. The Segar Factory, which had been restored by Mrs. Hazel G. Ledbetter of Round Top and Houston, was one of several buildings that would open for tours during the event. In 1968, Round Top had a population of 124.
