Shirley Helen (Standifer) Nunn, 96, of La Grange died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018. Shirley was born in Fork Ridge, Tenn. on Feb. 21, 1922, the daughter of Newman and Nellie (Yeary) Standifer. She married Vernon R. Nunn, Jr. on May 24, 1942 in Louisville, Ky. Shirley was a stay-at-home mother who loved caring for her family. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She is survived by daughter, Beverly Gaertner and husband, Glenn, of La Grange; two grandchildren: Jeremy Thomas Gaertner and wife, Milisa; Marcus Jonathan Gaertner and wife, Chastity; five great grandchildren: Justin Thomas, Trevor Blake, Jennifer Nicole, Jordan Wayne, and Landan Marcus; and one step great grandchild, Braikel Mack. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon; four sisters and two brothers. Visitation was held prior to the funeral service on Monday, Nov. 19, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. Funeral services followed beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial followed at the La Grange City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gardenia E.
