Northrup

Viola Myrtle (Greene) Northrup, 97, of La Grange, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018. Viola was born in Hoxie, Kansas on Sept. 21, 1921, the daughter of Ezra and Axie (Reed) Greene. She married Lavon “Bud” Northrup on Sept. 22, 1946 in Dresden, Kansas. Viola worked as a waitress. She enjoyed playing dominoes, canasta and bowling. She was very involved in church activities and was always known to be a very giving person; always placing other’s needs before herself. She is survived by two sons: David Neal Northrup of Bedford and Dwayne Ezra Northrup and wife, Shaun, of Conroe; six grandchildren: Paul; Melinda and spouse, Cory; Christopher and spouse, April; Renee, Reagan and Cori; and eight great grandchildren: Elijah, Jocelyn, Emily, Emalia, Eilana, Riley, Arabella and C.J. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ezra and Axie (Reed) Greene; husband, Bud; and brother, Charles Greene. Visitation was held on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. Funeral services will follow beginning at 4:30 p.m. with burial at La Grange City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 1048 N. Jefferson St., La Grange, Texas 78945. Family and friends can view and sign the guestbook online at www.lagrangefunerals.com.
