Bernard Jacob Michalsky, 84, of Ellinger, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018. Bernard was born in Fayetteville, on July 25, 1934, the son of Pete and Frances (Krenek) Michalsky. He married Jeanette Matura on Oct. 25, 1958 in Houston. Bernard served in the U.S. Army. Upon his return from the military, he worked as a welder. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; daughter, Cynthia Michalsky of Ellinger; son, Stephen Michalsky and wife, Phyllis, of Lometa; son, David Michalsky of La Grange; daughter, Laurie Hinton of Plano; son, Paul Michalsky and wife, Cathy, of New Ulm; brother, Alfred Michalsky and wife, Irene, of La Grange; brother, Eugene Michasky and wife, Margaret, of Fayetteville; brother, Laddie Michalsky and wife, Ray Ann, of La Grange; sister, Margie Klobedans of Rosenburg; sister, Helen Wisniewski of Houston; brother, Ludwig Michalsky and wife, Betty Ann, of Ellinger; three grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Andrew Michalsky. Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 21, 2018 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Knesek Chapel, 207 N. Live Oak in Fayetteville. Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, 815 St. Mary’s Church Rd. in Ellinger, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Restoration Fund, P.O. Box 57, Fayetteville, Texas 78940 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
