Edna Vivien Poe Eaton (known as Vivien or “Bibby”) born March 2, 1924 in Wilburton, Okla., died Wednesday Dec. 26, 2018 at her residence of the past eight years, Monument Hill Nursing Home in La Grange. Born in Wilburton to John and Edna Poe, Vivien was the youngest of five siblings – Douglas, Dixon, Betty Belle, and J. Paul. She was the last of her brothers and sister to survive. She lived over the years in Connecticut, Missouri, New York, Illinois, Oklahoma and for the last 20 years in Texas. At 18, she went to Tulsa for a wartime job at Douglas Aircraft.

There she met John T. Foster, a pilot in training in the US Army Air Forces. They were married in 1943 and divorced in 1968. After her divorce she married Kenneth Eaton when both were living in Chicago. They were married until Ken died in 1998. Together they were in the businesses of petroleum development and real estate management in Texas and Oklahoma. After her retirement Vivien enjoyed a love of family, gardening, and travel. She was devoted to her many cats. She is survived by her two sons, John Poe Foster, an attorney in Eastport, Maine and Alan Arthur Foster, a consultant in Rocky Mount, Virginia, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is the aunt of longtime La- Grange resident Margo Johnson.
