A Look Back at the Weather of 2018

As measured near La Grange, 2018 was another wet year in Fayette County, the fourth in a row going back to 2015. Precipitation was 46.26 inches last year, almost six inches above the average.

The official long-term precipitation average (going back to 1940) is 40.46 inches. Going back further to the early 1900s, the local rainfall average was less by 1.85 inches at 38.61. The Record uses the more recent figures as published in the Texas Almanac.
