Schulenburg Woman Dies in New Year’s Day Accident

A Schulenburg woman died in an auto-pedestrian accident on New Year’s Day.

According to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened around 6:17 p.m. on the Highway 90 bridge across the Navidad River at the west end of Schulenburg.

The report stated that a 2014 Chevy Camaro driven by 25-year-old Jesus Noel Ramirez of Schulenburg was heading west on Hwy. 90. At the same time, 78-year-old Helen Frances Balcar of Schulenburg was walking east on the westbound side of the bridge.
