Deputies Catch Suspected Burglars Moments After West Point Break-In
Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that in the early morning hours of Tuesday, January 8, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received an alarm call at The Point store in West Point, located about 11 miles west of La Grange on SH 71.
At approximately 3:11 a.m., Deputies Ryan Meagher and Adam Mack responded to the automatic alarm, which was reporting a glass break. When the Deputies arrived, Meagher encountered a vehicle in the rear of the business with two individuals attempting to leave the location. Mack observed a broken tow strap attached to the front doors of the store with the doors broken open. The other end of the broke tow strap was located inside the vehicle that Deputy Meagher had stopped attempting to leave the location.
Deputies arrested and charged 31-year-old Jeremy Parsons with burglary of a building. Parsons was also wanted on a warrant out of Travis County for driving while license invalid. Deputies also arrested and charged 38-year-old Manuel Soriano with with burglary of a building. Soriano was also wanted on a warrant for possession of marijuana out of Travis County. Both suspects are from Austin.
Deputy Terry Guentert assisted at the scene. Both subjects were transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center. The two suspects are also being questioned by Austin Police Department in reference to a shooting that happened in Austin, Korenek reported.
