Peevler
Josephine Annette (Risinger) Peevler, 86, of Industry passed away on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019. Annette was born in Bertram on Dec. 2, 1932, the oldest daughter of George and Claudia (Edwards) Risinger. Annette’s parents then moved to Lake Victor introducing both farm and ranch life to their family. She met the love of her life, Garland Peevler, while working in San Antonio at Fort Sam Houston where he spent his last few months in the United States Army after serving in the Korean War. Garland and Annette were wed on Nov. 24, 1954 while living in Ely, Nevada where Garland was working at a copper mine. Later they returned to Texas where Garland worked as a letter carrier. Annette became a stay at home mother until her sons started school, and then pursued a position as a Purchasing Agent for the Alief Independent School District until she retired. Annette became a believer and accepted Christ as her Savior as a young adult while living in San Antonio. Garland and Annette were long time members of the Alief Community Church. They taught the Children’s Church Ministries at the church. When Annette moved to Industry in 2009, she became a member of the West End Baptist Church. She was active in various ladies’ ministries. Annette adored her two sons, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was a talented seamstress, and took pride in making her own clothing. She is survived by son, Mark Peevler and wife, Karrie, of Fayetteville; sister, Lu Cowan of Burnet; daughter-in-law, Donella Peevler of Industry; three grandchildren: Sarah Bentke and husband, Corey; Amanda Peevler; and Matthew Peevler. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Garland; and oldest son, Greg. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the West End Baptist Church in Industry. Funeral services will follow beginning at 11 a.m with Pastor Dennis Keen officiating. Burial will be held at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lake Victor at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley; Samaritan’s Purse; or to a charity of one’s choice.
