Chernosky
Funeral services for Ann Chernosky, 88, of Old Dime Box, were held at 10 a.m., on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019 at the Dime Box Brethren Church in Dime Box with Pastor Jim Heckman officiating. Burial followed in the Hranice Cemetery in Dime Box. Annie Mae (Voight) Chernosky was born on April 27, 1930 in the Paint Creek Community of Bastrop County. She was the daughter of Frank August Voight and Frieda Alvina (Domann) Voight. She married Joe Marek on Nov. 23, 1946 in Dime Box. Together they owned and operated Marek’s Café in Dime Box for many years. Following Joe’s death in January of 1989, Ann married one of her childhood sweethearts, Emil Jenke Sr. in 1992. They enjoyed life together and traveled before his sudden death in April of 1994. In June of 1995, she married Clarence Chernosky. Together they owned and operated Downtown Café in Dime Box from 1995 until 2005. Ann died Friday, Jan. 18, 2019 at the CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Ann is survived by her husband, Clarence Chernosky of Old Dime Box; four daughters, Dorothy and Walter Moerbe of Lexington, Pat Ahrendt and Kenny Benge of Lexington, Judy and Mike Westbrook of Old Dime Box, and Sherry and Gordon Lehmann of Dime Box; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one great, great grandson; one sister-in-law, Lillie Voight of McDade; one brother-in-law, Ali Ngiratumrang of Red Oak and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.
