Sheriff Warns of Jury Duty Scam

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek warns citizens about a new scam circulating around the area.

Korenek said several citizen have received a call from a male who claims to be “Sgt. Jones” with the Sheriff’s Office. The caller told the citizens that they missed jury duty and must pay an outstanding fine.

The Sheriff said citizens should not send money or give any information to the caller. He asked citizens to report any such calls to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office by calling (979) 968-5856.
