Community journalism lost one if its great champions this week.

George Chadwick Ferguson, or Chad, to everyone he ever met, lost his battle with cancer this week.

He was the editor and publisher of The Banner-Press newspaper and was well-known in this area for his sports coverage, winning many awards in that field. In fact, that’s how I first met him.
