Kappler

Funeral services for Happy Kappler, 79, of Serbin, are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin with Rev. John Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Happy Christmas Gest Kappler was born on Dec. 25, 1939 to Loui and Bessie (Brown) Gest in Bastrop. On Oct. 9, 1959, Happy was united in marriage Paul Kappler in Houston. She worked as an accounting manager for several law firms for many years. She was an excellent cook who also enjoyed reading.

Happy died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019 at her home in Serbin. She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Paul Kappler of Serbin; her son, Paul “Pistol“ Kappler II and his wife, Kim of Lake Jackson; her daughter, Sandra Kaye Dunlap and her husband, Doug of Katy; six grandchildren; sister, Loyce Bundick and her husband, Don of Sublime; her brother, Louis H. Gest, Jr. and his wife, Sue of Pearland.
