The Muldoon Volunteer Fire Department will be holding their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, June 4 at 7 p.m. Anyone that is interested along with residents is welcome to attend the meeting. Plans for the July 4 fundraiser will be discussed.

La Grange’s public school received tentative approval for a summer neighborhood youth corps program in which 300 boys and girls, aged 16 through 21, would be employed to perform various jobs in the La Grange school system and on public property in and near the city.

Rain was the topic on everybody’s mind last week. Early Monday morning a big thunderstorm
came in and camped right over the Muldoon area dumping over five inches of rain. This deluge caused many of the local creeks and streams to overflow.

As the weather gets warmer, the wildlife around our house seems to increase – exponentially. There especially is an increase in the insects, spiders, snakes, mice and rats. The insects seem to multiply over night. They are always buzzing around my head.

AUSTIN — June 1 is the last day of the 84th Regular Session of the Texas Legislature. From now until then is all the time that remains for the House and Senate to decide if they’re going to agree on a 2016-2017 state budget.
