Funeral services Mabel Bruns were held Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 10 a.m. from the Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home in Schulenburg. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2016 at the funeral home.

Kermit Sanfred Knippel “Sam”, 84, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, April 10, 2016. Sam was born April 21, 1931 in Fayetteville. He grew up loving sports, served in the military in the 1950’s and was a long-time employee of Swift and Company, where he served for over 30 years.

Maggie Lee Tutson, 70, of La Grange died Wednesday, March 20, 2016 at her residence. Maggie was born Sept. 9, 1945 in La Grange, the daughter of Fred and Lue (Wolfford) Dobbins. She married Calvin Tutson, Jr. in Houston on Nov. 11, 1976.

Rosa Yolanda (Guerra) Padilla, 49, of Brenham, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Scott & White Hospital in College Station. Rosa was born in Rio Grande City on Sept. 13, 1966, the daughter of Jose and Nora Martinez. Rosa spent her life caring for the elderly.

Helen Ruth (Wineland) Oestreich—Daughter, sibling, preacher’s wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, registered nurse, servant, witness, thoughtful, compassionate, yet stern when appropriate. She was amazing in the way she kept track of all.
