The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office discovered an apparent theft ring last week involving automobiles, construction equipment and recreational vehicles. Deputies arrested three individuals suspected of involvement in the ring, including 30-year-old Autry Futschik, III of Flatonia.

Round Top-Warrenton firefighter Calvin Krause waits with his colleagues for power to be turned off before they can begin fighting a fire at the home of Kay Payton near Huenefeld Lane near Round Top. Power lines were down and arcing around the home as a result of the fire.

By ANDY BEHLEN Flatonia City Council hired Bernie Satterwhite, Jr. as interim city manager on Tuesday, Jan. 19. Satterwhite moved to the Flatonia area after retiring as city manager of Bellaire in 2014, a post he held for 13 years.
