A man driving a farm tractor on Texas 71 was rushed to Brackenridge Hospital in Austin after another vehicle rear-ended him, causing the tractor to roll over.
What started out as an effort to burn some tall grass left standing from last year's hay crop turned into an out-of-control blaze on Friday, Feb. 12, at the Dopslauph Farm in Mullins Prairie.

La Grange Police Chief Jackie Skelton presented his department’s 2015 racial profiling report at the La Grange City Council meeting on Monday, Feb. 8. Skelton’s report showed his officers wrote 1,297 traffic tickets in 2015.

Fortunately no one was injured when a gooseneck trailer containing a load of round bales of hay overturned n the bluff Tuesday afternoon about 2:20 p.m. The incident blocked US 77 in both directions until it was cleared.
