Schulenburg folks are seeing a change of scenery along US Highway 77 at the north end of town. Demolition crews have taken down three closed gas stations over the last two weeks: Andy’s Food Mart, Tiger Tote Exxon and the H. A. Fietsam Service Station.

La Grange Community Blood Drive (LGCBD) coordinators presented 211 coupons from their last three blood drives to Cheryl Anstead to benefit her son, Stormy, who is recovering from a serious car accident he was involved in this past January.
By ANDY BEHLEN For almost a month a rail car has been lying on the side of the Union Pacific tracks along US. 90 west of Engle. UP spokesman Jeff DeGraff said the wheels of the car had locked up, requiring the conductor to stop the train.

La Grange police chief Jackie Skelton said Thursday that his investigators have identified a “person of interest” in the attempt to burn down The Bugle Boy music venue last week. “We’ve sent the forensic evidence to Austin for analysis,” Skelton said.
