Colton Stahl, Fayette County 4-H Shooting Sports member, recently competed in San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo Shoot Out and was crowned Stock Show and Rodeo Blaser Shotgun Shootout Champion. He won a Blaser F3 Shotgun valued at $8,500.

Two men died as a result of auto accidents in Fayette County over the weekend. On 1:23 p.m. Saturday Eric Rivas, 29, of Houston died when the 2008 Chrysler 300 he was driving struck a tree four miles south of La Grange off Highway 77.

Second Chance Emporium, the nonprofit thrift store in La Grange, has donated $2 million to local human services organizations since it opened on Travis Street in 1996. Second Chance passed this milestone in February, according to the non-profit’s treasurer, Linda Streicher.
