The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, along with agents from four other law enforcement agencies, seized 2,500 marijuana plants found growing near Kirtley on Thursday, July 19. No arrests have been made.

A man died Sunday morning in a house fire in Flatonia that police are treating as a crime scene. According to Flatonia Police Chief Perry Kram, a 911 call came in around 8 a.m. reporting a house fire.
