Navidad Valley Community Connections celebrated Valentine’s Day on Feb. 12. Members enjoyed a wonderful meal and even better entertainment. The St. Rose children grades third through fourth entertained members with songs and jokes. What fun it was to have these children visit. The seniors gave them candy and book marks, made during crafty corner.

The Colorado Valley Independent Cattlemen’s Association Chapter held their annual Trade Show and dinner Saturday, Feb. 15 at the KC Hall in La Grange. Above are some of the door prizes being given out, and to the right are folks loading up at the bbq beef dinner.

The open house for the Navidad Valley Community Connections (NVCC) Crafty Corner was well received. A video on has been posted on Facebook of the day. The door prize drawing was won by Elroy Dieringer. NVCC appreciates Todd Gorman for making a great sign in the entryway of the building.

Miss Veronica Leigh Adamcik and Mr. Donald Scott Gillenwater were united in Holy Matrimony at two o’clock on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houston. The Reverend Eric Pitre of Sealy, presided over the Nuptial Mass uniting the couple in their double-ring ceremony. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a black-tie wedding reception with cocktails, dinner and dancing at the Junior League of Houston with entertainment provided by London Calling. On the eve of the wedding, the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at Jackson Street BBQ.

The Fayette County Czech Heritage Society of Texas met on Sunday, Jan. 26, in the Hanslik Hall of the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center (TCHCC) in La Grange at 2 p.m. with 30 members and guests in attendance.

Navidad Valley Community Connections is pleased to announce the open house for their new craft center. The open house will be held Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon located in “the old” Stanzel Airplane factory at 1201 Kessler Ave. Coffee, tea and cookies will be served along with door prizes. Some crafts will be available for purchase. Everyone is invited to attend.
