YOAKUM – The La Grange Leopard football team is on the brink of regular season perfection. With Friday’s dominating 28- 7 victory at Yoakum, the Leps have put themselves one win away from the program’s first undefeated regular season since 1999.

Even though the Bulldogs were off last week, the right things happened around the district, and Flatonia has officially clinched its first playoff berth since 2007. The Bulldogs (6-2) close out the regular season Friday at Thrall (2-7).

Caleb Grimes, a senior, has participated in cross country for four years and is the sole regional qualifier this year from La Grange High School. He runs this Saturday at regionals in San Antonio, and if he runs well enough, he can advance to the state meet.

It’s becoming an annual October tradition for the Lady Leps to be crowned district champs. With a four-set victory Tuesday in Yoakum, the Lady Leps officially clinched their fourth consecutive district title.
