As La Grange small businesses continue to suffer financial fallout due to the coronavirus pandemic, the City of La Grange’s Economic Development Corporation (EDC) has approved funding for a variety of emergency small business programs. The EDC has designated $100,000 to an emergency forgivable microloan fund. These forgivable microloans will be underwritten, approved and serviced by BCL of Texas. Locally-owned, independent businesses with fewer than 50 employees that have been ordered to change their services due to the coronavirus would be eligible. These forgivable loans would be up to $2,500 for each business. Following the three month payment deferment period, loan recipients would pay a monthly payment on the loan for three months. After the initial six months, the remainder of the loan would be forgiven.
