Rainfall in the Hill Country is causing record flooding of the Colorado River and its tributaries upstream of Austin, but it looks like La Grange will be spared from serious danger as that water arrives in Fayette County this weekend.
Rainfall in the Hill Country is causing record flooding of the Colorado River and its tributaries upstream of Austin. The river level at the gauge above La Grange measured 9.38 feet at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, but it is predicted to rise above 20 feet in coming days.

The 41st annual Texas “T” Party rolled into Fayette County last week. Drivers and riders of nearly 100 Ford Model Ts from across the state met up in Schulenburg from Wednesday to Saturday.

Marsha Ward woke up to an ugly surprise Thursday morning, Oct. 4. A large limb from an oak tree in front of her house on South Madison Street in La Grange fell onto her pickup truck earlier that morning, crushing the cab.
