Young folks from the La Grange Anchor Club are putting a new twist on their fall cemetery tour, which takes place on Nov. 4-5. This year, the club is teaming up with the Faison Preservation Society to put on a drama inside the historic La Grange City Cemetery.

Representatives from the VA’s Central Texas Veterans Health Care System appeared at a public forum in La Grange on Wednesday, Oct. 18, to answer questions about the clinic the VA plans to open at St. Mark’s Hospital next spring.

Culpepper & Merriweather Circus raised their big top this morning at the Fayette County Fairground. The circus offers two shows tonight, Oct. 16, at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Watch the big top go up in the video below.

A group of Plum residents are asking Fayette County to clean some old drainage ditches. The drainage problems in Plum gained attention following Hurricane Harvey, which turned the flat river bottom around Plum into a shallow lake for a few days in late August.
A few false rumors concerning the August flood have been floating around La Grange. Last Friday the Record spoke with La Grange assistant city manager Frank Menefee, who dispelled the false information.
