An oil rig started drilling a well on FM 1291 near Fayetteville earlier this month. The well pad is located about a mile and a half north of the Fayetteville City Limits on the west side of FM 1291.

Folks driving west of La Grange on SH 71 at night may have noticed some strange purple lights coming from the old La Grange Dodge Dealership. One observer compared them to something out of a sci-fi movie. It’s not an alien invasion, but it is pretty high tech.

An oversized load struck a telephone pole in Fayetteville Thursday morning, Dec. 7, knocking out telephone service in Fayetteville and Ellinger until late afternoon.
Fayette County is seeking $2.5 million in federal funds to buyout homes that were flooded after Hurricane Harvey. In addition, the county is seeking state funds to provide flooded homeowners with $150,000 grants to demolish and raise their homes.
