A pair of La Grange ISD students averted what could have been a tragedy last Thursday afternoon, Feb. 1, when the driver of their school bus suffered a medical emergency behind the wheel on SH 71.

The Fayette County Republican Party held a forum last week which included the five Republicans and one Democrat running for the District 13 seat in the Texas House of Representatives. The forum took place at the Fayette County Ag Building in La Grange on Thursday, Feb. 1.

A heat lamp started a fire in a pen holding 10 guinea pigs in La Grange Monday morning, Jan. 29. Three guinea pigs perished in the flames. Two others were badly burned.

A fire in northern Fayette County burned 100 acres of pasture Monday afternoon, Jan. 22.
La Grange Volunteer Fire Department got the call shortly after 4 p.m. The fire occurred on the Chuck Guzman property on Bear Creek Road south of Warda.

Fayette County Republican Party hosted a question-andanswer forum for candidates of both parties running in the Pct. 2 Commissioner race on Tuesday night, Jan. 23. The event took place at Henkel Hall in Round Top. About 70 people attended.

Residents across much of the western half of Fayette County reported hearing a loud ‘boom’ Saturday night, Jan. 20.
The sound of an explosion was reported in Flatonia, Cistern, Muldoon, West Point and the western edge of La Grange. Those who heard it said it happened around 7:30 p.m.
