For a quarter and a half the La Grange boys basketball team hung with Liberty Hill.
But the District 19-4A champion Panthers were relentless offensively and defensively for four quarters as they raced to a 92-44 victory over La Grange in a first round playoff game Tuesday in Bastrop.

Rodney Kana doesn’t mind throwing a brush-back pitch to Father Time.
At 49 years old, by far the oldest member of the alumni team in Saturday’s annual baseball game against the Leps varsity baseball team, Kana hurled four innings of one-run baseball to lead the alumni to a 3-2 victory.

A suffocating Leander Glenn defense held La Grange to one of its lower point totals of the season as the Grizzlies defeated the Lady Leps 44-31 in a 4A first round playoff game Monday in Bastrop.

After a one-year absence from the postseason, the La Grange boys basketball team is headed back to the playoffs. The Leps bashed Smithville 56-44 at home Friday night to clinch the fourth and final playoff spot out of District 20-4A.

An epic basketball game between La Grange and Giddings took a back-seat to something far more serious Tuesday when Leps junior star A.J. Grant had to be carried off the court on a stretcher and taken to the hospital with his second serious back injury in as many seasons.

It took a little while, but when the La Grange girls finally got going Tuesday, the Lady Leps had a stretch more dominant than anything they’ve done before this season.
From midway through the third quarter to midway through the fourth quarter, La Grange outscored Giddings 31-2.
