It was a case of musical chairs on the La Grange square last week. Kat’s Two, Katherine Hanslik-Svatek’s multiple vendor antiques business at 213 W Travis will become Judy’s Attic. The Judy in question is Judy Tobias, one of Hanslik-Svatek’s vendors. The official changeover comes Nov. 1.

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Wednesday, Oct. 10, around 3:15 p.m. Deputy Darrell Maze stopped a vehicle traveling west on State Highway 71 near the Scenic Overlook for a traffic violation.

The Carson & Barnes Circus came to town Thursday and set up shop at The Fayette County Fairgrounds. Before a pair of performances, they held a free public demonstration as they washed their two elephants.

Marsha Ward woke up to an ugly surprise Thursday morning, Oct. 4. A large limb from an oak tree in front of her house on South Madison Street in La Grange fell onto her pickup truck earlier that morning, crushing the cab.

La Grange Firefighters responded to a house fire on South Vail Street Monday evening, Oct. 8.
The call came in around 6:15 p.m. The cause is unknown at this time.
