On Sunday, September 9 at 1:30 p.m., La Grange Police Offi cer Joseph Gates responded to a report of a large pecan tree that had fallen on two vehicles at My Offi ce Bar and Grill at 710 West Travis Street.

Rain or shine, Texas Heroes Museum at the Old Jail in La Grange will host “Tales from Texas Heroes,” an historical play. The play will feature actors from La Grange High School Drama Club, One Act Play and La Grange Anchor Club. The play starts at 6:30 p.m.

On Monday, Sept. 10, the Round Top Board of Aldermen accepted the resignation of Barnell Albers as mayor and, acting on the nomination of Barry Bone by mayor pro tem Ronny Sacks, voted to appoint Bone as mayor to serve out the first year of Albers’ sixth two-year term.

Since 1873 the Round Top Schuetzenverein has been hosting its Schuetzenfest (Shooting Feast). This year is no exception. The shooting competition starts early on Sunday, September 16.
Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Monday afternoon around 4:16 p.m. the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a female accompanied by a male subject with a handgun who kicked in a door at apartments on St. Hwy 159 near La Grange, threatening harm to the occupants.
