Rainfall in the Hill Country is causing record flooding of the Colorado River and its tributaries upstream of Austin, but it looks like La Grange will be spared from serious danger as that water arrives in Fayette County this weekend.

Fayette County 4-H recently sponsored a 4K Color Run/Walk on Saturday, October 13 in conjunction with National 4-H Week One Day Community Service Project. One Day is a day when all 4-H Clubs/Members in Texas do something to benefit their community.

Prior to Oct. 7, the last time Michael Hess had gotten up before the congregation at First Baptist Church in La Grange was five years ago.

A red Hereford bull went missing from property at Old Plum Highway and Business 71. Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek said the property owner reported the bull missing around 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16.

Rainfall in the Hill Country is causing record flooding of the Colorado River and its tributaries upstream of Austin. The river level at the gauge above La Grange measured 9.38 feet at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, but it is predicted to rise above 20 feet in coming days.

The 41st annual Texas “T” Party rolled into Fayette County last week. Drivers and riders of nearly 100 Ford Model Ts from across the state met up in Schulenburg from Wednesday to Saturday.
