Elaine Katherine Zbranek died suddenly in Hostyn on March 29, 2018. She is survived by her husband Larry of La Grange and her three children: Brian Zbranek and his wife Gina of Ammansville, Christina Halata and her husband David of Moravia, and Jennifer Zaruba and her husband James of Flatonia.

Funeral services for Shirley McKeown, 82, of Giddings, were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 30, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Giddings with Pastor Steve Knott and Tim Pitts officiating. Burial followed in the Giddings City Cemetery.

Evelyn Alvina Klimek Lincke (Granny) passed away peacefully at the age of 87 in Victoria on March 26, 2018. Evelyn was born in Fayetteville on Aug. 28, 1930 to Albina Marek Klimek and Frank Klimek.

Dorothy Julia Franta Bertsch, 84, of Columbus, died March 22, 2018 in Columbus. She was born on March 13, 1934 to Ludwig and Frances (Kovar) Franta in Plum. On June 14, 1954 she married Clarence J. Bertsch. Dorothy was a retired cafeteria worker for Columbus High School, and a homemaker.

Larry Wayne Marusik, 68, of Ellinger, died Friday, March 23, 2018. Larry was born in La Grange on March 21, 1950, the son of Edwin and Nola (Blazek) Marusik. He married Diane Faye (Ilse) Marusik on April 17, 1971 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger.

Mary Sue “Susie” Woodward, 90, formally of Weimar, passed away on March 26, 2018 at Regency Nursing Home in Schulenburg. A memorial service will be held at a later date. She was born on Dec. 2, 1927 in Haileyville, Okla., the daughter of Edna (Owen) and George W. Moody.

Arthur L. Chamberlin, 86, of Muldoon, died Friday, March 23, 2018. Arthur was born in Bristol, Connecticut on June 28, 1931, the son of William and Dorothy (Osgood) Chamberlin. He was one of five children. He served his country in the U.S. Army, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1953.
