In what was likely the final home basketball game of their careers, seven La Grange seniors came up big to help clinch a playoff spot for the Leps on the final night of the regular season. The La Grange boys downed Giddings 50-40 to clinch third place in District 21-4A.

The La Grange girls shut out their second consecutive opponent as they beat Gonzales 1-0 Tuesday at Leopard Stadium. The victory improves the Lady Leps district record to 2-1 heading into a big game Friday at Smithville.

The La Grange boys basketball team picked the perfect time to snap out of its three-game losing streak. In Bellville Tuesday night the Leps used a strong second half to blow open their game with the Brahmas and win 65- 47.

The La Grange girls basketball team isn’t headed to the playoffs, but the Lady Leps played Tuesday with the intensity of a postseason team, pushing Bellville to overtime before falling 59-52. La Grange was led in scoring in that game by sophomore Emily Magness, who scored 14.
