Turns out flood water doesn’t only destroy.
It has the power to bring people together.
That was the message thousands of volunteers sent this week in the aftermath of the worst flooding La Grange has seen in over a century.

La Grange ISD announced on Friday, Sept. 1, that the school is adding new bus stops for students displaced by the recent flood.

About 41 people remained in the La Grange Second Baptist Church flood shelter as of 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1. City Manager Shawn Raborn said Mayor Janet Moerbe was working with religious leaders in town to find short-term accommodations for the remaining displaced.

HEB of La Grange is offering free recovery cleaning kits to those afected by the flood. The kits include cleaning supplies for those trying to re-enter their homes.
