The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office wants to give some big raises to its two drug interdiction officers. The request came at the same meeting last Thursday in which the county auditor said she anticipates a significant dip in revenue due to the economic shutdown and advised officials to tighten spending.

Fayette County Judge Joe Weber held a meeting Monday with local mayors and city managers to gauge their opinions about opening back up the local economy. The municipal leaders from around the county all voiced support for easing the current restrictions, although some cautioned against a rush that could lead to new infections of the COVID-19 virus.
The Fayette County Office of Emergency Management announced this afternoon, April 21, that the County's total number of coronavirus cases has gone down by one.
