Sheila Coufal has announced her intention to seek re-election to the office of Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, in the Republican Primary. She has been Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2 for 12 years. Prior to being appointed and elected to this position, she was Court Clerk for 20 years.

For over a year, local veteran John D. Marburger had been “bugging” Dick Peck, a highly decorated Vietnam War fighter pilot, to apply for one of the “Honor Flights” for veterans to Washington D.C. Peck finally said “yes” and returned from the experience on Veterans Day.

John “J.R.” Rubio has announced his intention to seek the office of Fayette County Commissioner Precinct 2. Rubio has been employed with Fayette County since 1988, and currently serves as the Precinct 2 Road & Bridge foreman. He has held that title for 16 years.
